Reviews and Ratings
The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Kirkwall, close to the main shopping street and city attractions. The rooms, while potentially noisy due to the street outside, offer a great experience if you appreciate the historic charm. The dining was a mix of options, ranging from excellent to disappointing, but overall a decent choice.
The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Kirkwall, making it easy to explore the town and enjoy the surroundings. The rooms are spacious and well-heated, providing a cozy retreat after a day of activities. The dining options are satisfactory but could use some improvement. The overall value for money is decent given the central location.
The hotel exceeded our expectations with very comfortable and spacious rooms, although it was noisy at times from the bar below. The location was central and convenient, ideal for exploring Kirkwall, and the dining experience was satisfactory. Overall, a good value for money stay.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The rooms were spacious, modern, and lovely, complete with a generous bathtub and a fantastic seating area. However, it could get a bit noisy from the street, and there was no fan available, which you might expect from an older building. The partitioned seating area in the room was a brilliant touch.
The hotel is quite dark and may be noisy due to its location above the bar where patrons spilled out onto the streets, but if you can overlook that, it's a great older option. The rooms are quietly lowly but beware of thin walls. The back-facing rooms offer views of overlooked buildings.
